Tuition Guide: How to activate your Microsoft 365 Student Account
Welcome aboard, freshmen of the University of Messina! Are you ready to discover your new digital ecosystem to better face the lessons?

Starting college is an exciting time, but juggling platforms, passwords, and portals in the very first few days can be confusing.
For this reason, we have prepared a clear and quick guide to activate your Microsoft 365 Account (also known as a “Student Account”).
What is it and how is it different from ESSE3?
The Account Microsoft 365 is your institutional profile provided by the University to use all communication and teaching tools. Warning: is a separate and independent account from the one you use for Online Secretariat (ESSE3).
What's included in the package?
Activating this account will give you access to a world of essential services for your university life, including:
📧 Outlook: Your new Institutional Email Inbox.
💬 Microsoft Teams: The fundamental platform for following any online lessons and collaborating with teachers and colleagues.
☁️ OneDrive: A storage space in the cloud for your notes and documents.
...and all the other apps in the Microsoft 365 suite!
How do I activate? The step-by-step tutorial
The first login procedure requires a quick password reset. Follow these simple steps:
Login: After upon receipt of the registration confirmation from the secretariat, go to the Microsoft 365 website and click on "Login".
Email Entry: Please enter your new student email .
Reset Password: As this is your first login, the system will prompt you for a password. Click on "I have forgot password".
Security Check: Enter the image characters (Captcha) to confirm that you are not a robot and click "Next".
Contact Method: Choose as the verification method to send a message to your User Alternate Email and click on the blue button.
The Code: The address used by the system will be your personal email (the one entered during registration on ESSE3). Open your personal box, copy the 6-digit verification code you received and enter it on the Microsoft page, then click "Next".
New Password: Create the your new strong password and click "Finish".
You're all set! Now that your password has been changed, you can finally log in to Microsoft 365 with your new credentials.
