Registration Semester Filter 2026/2027: everything you need to know

The entry into the degree courses of the Medical and Veterinary Area requires attention and precision from the first bureaucratic steps. To help you navigate the stress-free journey, here's a detailed summary of how the Filter Semester for the 2026/2027 ACADEMIC YEAR works.
Don't forget your deadlines
Timing at this stage is everything. Mark these dates in the agenda fundamentals:
Application submission: by 3 August 2026 (6pm).
Contribution payment: no later than August 6, 2026.
How and where to apply
The procedure does not take place on the University systems, but at the country.
Platform: The application should only be submitted through the Universitaly portal.
Choices: During the procedure, you will need to indicate your preferred university locations and select the so-called "Affine Course".
What is the Course Affine?
The affine course represents your real “lifeline”. This is an alternative degree program in which you will be placed and you can continue studying in the event that, at the end of the semester, you do not manage to pass the barrier for Medicine, Dentistry or Veterinary Medicine. Choose it carefully!
Lessons, obligations and costs
Once enrolled, the required commitment will be immediate:
Start of lessons: The starting whistle is set for September 1st.
Teaching: The semester includes subjects for a total of 18 credits.
Frequency: Frequency requirement to be able to take the exams.
Fees: A contribution of €250 is required (please refer to the call for applications for exemption).
What happens if you don't pass the filter?
If at the end of the semester you cannot meet the required requirements, not everything is lost. The system provides for a specific number of attempts to be able to retry access, but in the meantime your academic career will be protected by enrolling in the related course chosen at the time of application.
