The Legal-Theatrical Laboratory on Equality and against Gender Violence is underway
An interdisciplinary training course open to the entire University: 50 hours of activity, recognition of 6 credits and a final theatrical performance scheduled for the summer of 2027.

The Department of Law of the University of Messina, in collaboration with the association Elsa Messina, has officially activated a project with a strong social and cultural impact: the "Legal-theatrical laboratory for equality and against gender violence". It is an opportunity to explore complex and topical dynamics through an approach that combines legal analysis with expressiveness of performing arts.
How it works and what
entails The initiative is structured around 50 hours of educational and laboratory activities , with an official launch scheduled for October 15, 2026. The coordination of the project is entrusted to Prof. Giusi Sorrenti, while the practical development will be led by two professionals in the artistic-theatrical sector: the directors Salvo Presti and Cristiana Minasi, supported by the tutor Dr. Maria Cristina Spartà.
At the end of the course, in the summer of 2027, participants will be involved in the preparation and staging of a real theatrical performance . The work will aim to stage the obstacles to effective equality between the sexes and the multiple manifestations of gender violence, addressing especially to high school students for a targeted awareness-raising work.

The lab is designed to be transversal and inclusive. Here are the details for enrollment:
Recipients: Participation is open to students from all departments of the University, as well as the administrative staff and teachers.
Academic advantages: For university students, attendance is totally free and guarantees the recognition of 6 CFU, valid as a free educational activity or at the student's choice.
Application deadline: The formal deadline for submit the application is set for October 10, 2026.
⚠️ Warning: Given the high number of applications already received, the organizers strongly recommend that you express your interest by the end of September, so as to avoid exclusion for exceeding the maximum threshold of available seats.
